MRD Employee Spotlight: Kristin Moeggenberg

Today, our spotlight is on Kristin Moeggenberg, Accounts Receiveable at MRD Corporate, East Lansing, MICHIGAN.

We have the best team in the business! Each month you can meet one of our AWESOME employees who make our success possible! Get to know us by getting to know WHO we ARE! We are MRD!

The Getting to Know you questions

  • 1. First, tell us how long you’ve been at MRD?

  • It will be 17 years in October! Yeah, me, Carol and Tammi are all really close. A long time!

  • 2. What do you like most about MRD?

  • Helping my managers. I actually feel really good when they are like “Thank you” or “You are a lifesaver!” or “Thank you for making sense of balance!”. Clearing up account balances actually makes me feel very proud when I can help with that and make it a little bit easier for them.

  • 3. What is your proudest moment at MRD?

  • Gosh, kind of the same thing! Helping my managers get to the bottom of things. I am used to reading the ledgers so that makes me very proud to help them. I enjoy that a lot.

  • 4. What motivates you to work hard?

  • Pride! I am one of those people that has to feel pride in knowing what I did and that I did a good job. I work hard when I am here, so yes pride in what I do!

  • 5. Who is your hero?

  • My MOM! That is easy! She is the most selfless person I have ever known in my entire life. She pretty much raised me on her own. She and my dad divorced when I was only 2. It was just me and my mom for years. She also became a caregiver for her parents when they got older. My mom is the oldest of 5 and the only girl. So the time she devoted just to give to her parents. Her mother with Dementia lived with her for 9 years after my Grandfather died. 90% of her life was caring for her mom. She just now let go of that, she couldn’t do it all on her own. She just now moved her to a memory care unit but she goes and visits her 4x a week! She is my best friend! We have a very unique relationship and I will always treasure that.

  • 6. Best advice you have been given?

  • The Serenity Prayer! I am really bad about holding things in. When something bothers me I have a really hard time letting it go. So, the Serenity Prayer and knowing if you can’t do anything about it then you have to let it go!

  • 7. If you could choose to do any job for a day, what would it be?

  • I would probably be a Literary Editor. I love to read and I used to write a lot when I was younger. In fact, I thought about being a writer but it is kind of hard to realistically make a living at it. I have always been really strong in Literature, the English language and grammar so I would have made a really good Editor. Except I would have spent my whole life reading and probably would have never looked up and got out! (Kristin loves all books but prefers books lighter on the brain to relax- Historical, Biographies, Romance, Mystery, Sci-Fi!)

  • 8. If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

  • I have not really traveled much outside of the Continental United States so I don’t know of anywhere exotic but if I picked in US then I would say Tennessee. I have spent a lot of time down there because I have family down there. The Gatlinburg/Knoxville area. The weather is much milder than here in Michigan and there is a lot to do.

  • 9. What was your childhood nickname?

  • Well when I was young it was “Danni” because of my middle name. My best friend that passed away last year called me “Kid”. It was something she called me since we met in middle school. I am not even sure where it came from! Now I am Moegg because of my husband. So, it has changed over the years!

  • 10. What's 3 things left on your bucket list?

  • I have the longest bucket list ever! #1 Traveling- I want to experience different places outside of the Continental US. #2 Just relax and enjoy life, sometimes I feel like work and then go home and work and then get back up and work! Just time to slow things down and enjoy things that I think I miss out on. #3 Raise dogs forever! I have one right now, a 190lb English Mastiff (same kind of dog as in the movie The Sandlot). He is my baby! I would have a herd of those if I had the space. His name is Logan. I would be like Cesar Milan and have a dog farm. (Kristin the Dog Whisperer!)

  • 11. Favorite things to do on your days off?

  • Relax and spend time with my husband and my dog! I am a homebody! Reading and watching TV. My favorite TV show is Supernatural on the CW and I was a huge fan of Bones! I also spend a lot of time on the Golf course with husband on the weekend!
